Janice "Jannie" Wright grew up in Kendall, New York and has been baking delicious cakes, cookies, pies and treats for as long as she can remember. Her two daughters, Raeanne and Natalie, remember baking treats for every holiday, and often fighting over who got to lick the batter from the bowl.
At Jannie's house, every occasion deserves a decadent dessert: chocolate-raspberry layer cake for birthdays, cranberry-walnut spice cookies for Christmas, Dutch apple pie and the infamous "Civil War" walnut pie for Thanksgiving, braided Easter bread, Christmas scones, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, just because! The cookie platter is always overflowing when friends and family come to visit.
In 2005, when Jannie's daughter Raeanne was getting married, Jannie started teaching herself rolled fondant, sugar flowers, and tiered cake decorating techniques. Since then, Jannie has taken the Wilton cake-decorating class series as well as a piping techniques course at Sugar Flower Cake Shop in New York City. She's been making beautiful, intricately-decorated wedding cakes for more than five years now.
At the Albion Post Office, where Jannie worked for nearly twenty years, every postal worker received a homemade Jannie Cake on his/her birthday. After years and years of enjoying Jannie's home-baked treats, folks started making requests. Jannie's cakes were just too good for once a year! And so, Jannie Cakes was born!
Today, Jannie bakes custom-ordered specialty cakes, cupcakes, pies and treats on a per-request basis. She takes her time with each order to create something truly memorable for the occasion and the people enjoying her confections.

I'm not much of a fan of sweets, but Jannie's cakes are an exception to the rule. Each year she makes me a birthday treat, and each year it's better than the last! The ice cream cookie sandwiches this year were unbelievable!
